At 32, the Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova has become a real celebrity. In 2004 she lost her former boyfriend in the Asian tsunami and this was no going back. Now remarried.
From his childhood in the still communist Czech Republic early '80s until his appearance on the covers of world famous magazines like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. Reborn after the tragedy
In 2004, Petra and her then-boyfriend, photographer Simon Atlee, were among the tourists from Khao Lak Resort, on the Thai island of Phuket. Like millions of people, both were surprised by the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia. To model the experience was tough but with a happy ending: after surviving clinging to a palm tree for eight hours, could be rescued by Thai civilians. Atlee, however, perished and only one year after his body could be found.
The incident marked a before and after in the life of Petra, who founded a specific institution to help victims of natural disasters (the "Happy Hearts Found").
Seven years after that experience, Petra not only reaffirmed its labor part but also his love life. He will marry soon with British actor Jamie Belman.

The Australian Miranda Kerr was included among the top 30 models of the decade (2000-2010) by the French edition of Vogue. Now, after becoming a mother, put her career on hold.
The first Australian to become the face of Victoria's Secret now has entered the podium of the best thirty female models of the decade that just ended. The choice, by the French edition of Vogue, Miranda Kerr has put on a par with other catwalk queens like Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and Russian Natalia Vodianova and Sasha Pivovarova.
Kerr, follower of Buddhism and low profile lover (except for a torrid affair with the financier Adrian Camilleri), has earned the flashes and applause by dint of his expressive face and charisma. Participated in several major events from the world of fashion: Pirelli calendar, shows for Prada and covers of Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and GQ. It is also a favorite of Roberto Cavalli.
In 2008, while cementing their romance with actor Orlando Bloom (William Turner in "Pirates of the Caribbean"), Kerr scored a "good" also in the box of money: Forbes magazine placed it as the tenth best pay model planet.
In new era, Kerr and Bloom have just become parents of a son in the U.S. Despite the birthplace, the model does not tire of stating to the press that will travel to Australia with his new family. "I want my child to be Australian through and through", say Kerr emphasized.
