It is one of the smallest islands of the Caribbean. But that does not stop every year to grow the number of travelers who reside in it. Nudist beaches and picturesque villages make the difference.
The first might be supposed -before llegar- is that such a small island (96 square kilometers, half of the City of Buenos Aires) is traveled fast and soon abandoned. Like almost everything required to cruise the Caribbean cruise passage, Saint Martin often has this fate.
The French side (officially Saint Martin) took just over 50 km2 and is north. The Dutch side (Sint Maarten officially) is south. Between the two, no borders or passports. Circulation is free and travelers check contrasts with his own eyes.
The "side" French
The capital of French Saint Martin called Marigot is a great town and looking out to a calm bay of blue waters. Yes, although more than six thousand people do not live, surprising the existence of modern multi-storey shopping malls.
Leaving the small capital, beaches succeed each other. All seem equally drawn and the only difference is the number of visitors. The resorts, more or less hidden, do not go unnoticed: some do not skimp on luxury (like the Radisson Blu) . The only difference with the Dutch side of the island is that there are no casinos in hotels. Not out.
That restriction is perhaps unimportant for most travelers, who are inclined to navigate rented kayak or just relax under the sun always benign these latitudes.
The more adventurous can note that Club Orient is the only nudist beach on the island.
Now we will tell you more about the Dutch side.
